Easily
Accessible - The contents of each carpet bag are
easily accessible through a spring loaded, steel frame, tapestry
covered opening. This enables the bag to pop totally open or
shut.

Bridle leather - All the leather is die stamped to
insure uniformity. High grade English Bridle leather is used.
The handles are soft, comfortable, rounded "rope style"
handles.The leather is wrapped around and then sewn onto the handles. |
| Spring-loaded
steel frame - The spring-loaded steel frame is invisible
to the eye. Wrapped in padding and enclosed within the fabric,
it will spring totally open or shut when prompted. This U-shaped
frame is sometimes called a "doctor's bag" frame.It
gives the bag its hexagon shape when viewed from the front. This
6-sided shape is characteristic of the carpet bags of the 1800's. |
| Strength
and Support - Four brass studs protect the bottom of
the bag. The buckle, rivets and studs are also brass. The bottom
of this bag has a hardboard insert (not cardboard) enclosed within
the tapestry for strength and support. The bag folds flat for
storage. |
